Beyond Pink TEAM’s advocacy mission is to eradicate breast cancer by acting on effective strategies addressed to Congress, the administration, research institutions and health care providers to end this disease.

Beyond Pink TEAM is a member organization of the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) which informs, trains, and directs patients and others in effective advocacy efforts. Local Iowa advocates, trained by NBCC, are shaping breast cancer public policy by participating in legislative, scientific and regulatory decisions; promoting critical analysis of breast cancer information, media coverage, and actively working to change all systems that affect our mission to eradicate breast cancer.

Nationally, Beyond Pink TEAM has signed on as a supporter of the National Breast Cancer Coalition’s Breast Cancer Deadline 2020.  Breast Cancer Deadline 2020 is a global campaign to end breast cancer within 10 years. While the majority of breast cancer research is focused on finding the next treatment drug, the National Breast Cancer Coalition is focused on two issues:

  1. The causes and prevention of breast cancer metastasis
  2. How to prevent the disease from developing in the first instance

Edu-Action committe member and long time breast cancer advocate, Cindy Harris (r) meets with Dr. Susan Love, Founder of the Army of Women.

Cathy Ketton, breast cancer advocate, went to Washington DC with other BPT members to advocate for important breast cancer legislation.
